picked up a stash of my favorite writing pens

sat idly in the little one's room with thoughts of ordering a pizza

ordered the pizza, then painted my castoff jeans with fabric markers

took a picture of my favorite bowls for Tracey who drew them on the other side of the planet

had lunch with Jennifer

shrieked like a lottery winner when my coveted bangle from Lori arrived

ditto with these darling canvases from pen_and_paint for our kitchen

spent a morning in Soho

had coffee with Cindy

went to the Public Works poster exhibition at Flos

then wandered down Houston Street

bought pounds of homemade pasta at the hundred year old Raffetto's in Greenwich Village

ogled ancient PO boxes in my local station (I really have a thing for these)

and -- I made doodle clips! Karen, Beth and Jennifer came over for an art date and they witnessed the beginning of my new obsession. With the storm headed our way I'm going out right now to stock up on water, batteries, Nutella and clips. Just a warning -- there might be hundreds of them the next time I see you!
Happy Friday!

Good luck with that storm heading your way. I was just in NYC last week and the weather was great. Wandering in SOHO and down Houston St.-Absolutely loved it there. I wish I had known about the poster exhibit and some of the places you show in your pictures.. guess I'll have to save that for my next trip. Loved your post!! Happy PPF
Stay warm and safe. Love the clips. I might have to try it and make the obsession contagious. Lol.
i love your week! your doodled clips are gorgeous. alpha shanahan #28
I'm SO glad you put Nutella on that list! ;)

p.s. I'm absolutely crazy about those clips, and the jeans, and your bowls, and the photos, and, well... everything in this post! Wheeeee!
I enjoy visiting my daughters room taking a deep breath and thinking too. Maybe you thought of pizza because of the triangles on the curtain or maybe the circle rug? I've been bugging out about batteries too I'm planning a trip to town tomorrow for them. If the electric goes out stay calm, make art and see you on the other side.
you are surrounded by color and it does the mind & body good. love that orange room and all your treasures, especially your doodle clips. so glad we got together - i wandered around a good few hours after we parted with my bag of fresh pasta and it survived until we cooked it - delicioso.
it's something with instagram - i see things when your photos are blown up large i didn't when i view them on my iphone.
happy weekend!
Re: Nutella. May I suggest Justin's chocolate hazelnut butter. I think you will love it. If I had a storm coming, I'd buy that too! I wish you well in that bad weather. ~Kym (aka blissartworks)

thanks ruth! and everyone! should be interesting to see what happens or doesn't. i also stocked up on art supplies (that was actually my first stop) so I'm set for at least a week!
for a minute, I thought you did all this in one day. But then I realized it was your week. Whew. I was beginning to think you truly are super human! Sounds like a great week and I LOVE those post office boxes. doodle clips -- who would-a thought. What a great idea! I'm stockpiling for the storm too. Again on Halloween? no fair.

You sound like you have a lot of fun!! You go girl. Just love your work. You are an exciting person. Happy PPF!
What wonderful things you did with paper clips! Both the clips themselves and the photograph! Lovely, colourful post - and I love your daughter's room:)
Your photos of the city are beautiful. I especially like the post office boxes. I used to have one of those in the town I grew up in. I always loved opening that little box.
I live on Long Island so I'm half getting nervous, half going "it's not gonna come here" wishful thinking I guess.
Have a great weekend & let's hope we make it through the "perfect storm!"
What a colorful and delightful group of photos...I would have loved to had coffee with you in that adorable cafe!
Another fan of old-style PO boxes! Those and library cabinets (one of which I use for storing art supplies)—love 'em both.
The clips are great. Nutella and doodling with friends...what a wonderful way to end an artful day!

I did not know the pens came in all those colors. I am completely addicted to pens, passion inherited from my dad who collects them. The binder clips are so cool Aimee. Love it!

Aaaaaah, geez, I envy your life. I'd be too embarrassed to photo-document my day. It would be: here's my kitchen. Here's my desk. Here's my sink full of dirty dishes. Here's my desk. Sigh.
Be safe with Frankenstorm!
